Smith Street Fair?

So today there was a fair on Smith Street which is one of the main roads in Carroll Gardens.  I had to work so I enjoyed the festivities from inside.  Music, drunk people, kids running around screaming... fun time.

:)

So i decided to wear something other than a t-shirt to work and thats why i'm posting it.

Razorback tunic with sequence details on bottom from Forever 21 along with a studded high-waist belt from Forever 21, black flats and black leggings.  Thank god I didn't wear actual pants it was so freaking hot in there.

In another note I'm amazed at what men in NYC decide to say when they think your attractive.  I already got some crude things but the funniest thing until day was "God bless you you're beautiful"... sweet... but today I got "GOD BLESS AMERICA" shouted at me...??? ok... thanks?

Why do men think that its ok to say whatever the hell they want to women and what the hell goes threw their mind when they say "God bless America"???

Dumb.

Well I'm going to get a drink with my friend Katherine and then head to bed! Night!!!

meet my downstairs neighbor

 So this is Dani.
My downstairs neighbor.
She's a little out of her mind but aren't we all :)

So we did a little photoboothing and man does photobooth make pictures fun.

Idea courtesy of Ned Breznai <3
Dani's face my body.

So we were going to go fabric shopping for her dress today but it was really rainy and plus she had to get a heart monitor put on.  Really long story but basically she had a very scary incident that led to the hospital but she's fine now.

Tonight we went to see Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and OMFG it was so fantastic.  I absolutely love Shia Labeouf. Ever since Even Stevens... what a great show huh?

So when Dani came up today to ask me to go, I was taking pictures for this and it was kind of akward.

Anyways....

Here's a close up of my leggings and necklace... and yes I realize its a boob shot.

But what I wore today:
Off-white peasant top with a vintage "natural-waisted" skirt, my ripped leggings,
and yes my second pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs heels.
They were so cheap I had to get them.

And SO beautiful. I love the heel and the black with steel gray.
Oh Marc.

I did end up wearing my black shrug for most of the day because they like to put the AC on full blast at ZP. So I'm basically freezing if I'm not wearing seven layers.

Well...
Nothing really interesting happened today so... night?

so simple

So Laura and I finally went grocery shopping and got our "essentials".  YAY!

Today was slow but good.  I pleated unpleatable fabric. :( big sad face.  That took up a lot of my time.

Oh and I do still have a job!!!! WHOOT.  BUT I got two shitty lame shifts this week saturday and sunday 2 - 6.  awesome.

Went out for dinner tonight and got some red curry and it was freaken delicious.

Anyways I know you all care about what I wore... not really but here it is!

REALLY SIMPLE:
Black knit vest from UO, Top from Charlotte Russe, Black skinny Jeans {which I feel huge in because I'm bloated :( } and black flats.
Told you it was simple.

Oh so here's some ROUGH sketches of my sisters rehearsal dress that I'm going to make.  She wanted something that was antique looking so this is what I came up with.  Lots of pleats or pin tucks and cap sleeves.  Don't judge these REALLY ROUGH sketches because I did them when I was working at the bar and it was so dark I was drawing like two inches away from my face.

Oh and due to photobooth they are reflected so you can't really see my notes.  {Front of dresses to the right, back to the left} and they are extremely faded. sowwy.

My favorite one is the one close to my face in the first picture but I don't know how she'll feel about that one.  It has pearl beading on the front and has a corset underneath the top layer to make an hour glass shape.

And the last sketches are for Dani.  She chose the middle one. We're going fabric shopping tomorrow :)

(I'll post final sketches when I do them haha)

Yeah... and thats that.

happy monday!

So yesterday I decided to make some delicious fudge brownies. Needless to say... they are completely gone within the last hour.

Laura really enjoyed them :) and they were good. I want to make more but Laura and I have yet to go grocery shopping... Its too far and its rather annoying not having a car. :(

So my outfit today consisted of my skort, a graphic deep v-tee, off-black stockings, and my cowboy boots... but as soon as I got home I put a huge hole in the knee as I was taking my boots off.

Well I guess thats what I get for buying $2 stockings.

I decided to take a different perspective in my photobooth pictures for my outfit... Kinda cool... ?

So my boss Renee hasn't giving me hours yet for this week... I hope I still have a job.  I didn't do anything wrong but I think she's mad that I couldn't work today even though I told her I can't work Monday through Wednesday.  Big sad face.

If I don't get hours maybe a visit home? IDK

Happier news:
My downstairs neighbor, Danielle Danger Stoller, invited Laura and I to her show on off broadway called Room On Fire.  We saw it Friday and I enjoyed it.  Its mostly short skits put together but the skits are very intense and very funny.

So today she invited us downstairs to look through her clothes she didn't want/didn't wear ever and Laura and I snagged a few gems.  I can't wait to wear some of the dresses.  Thanks Dani!

So I've been asked to design a couple dresses lately for a few people that consist of Dani, Michelle Pitt, and my sister.  I started sketching my sisters dress but I'm about to start with Dani's and Michelle's tonight.

OH! and today a very special person came into {{ahem}} and I'm embarrassed to say that I couldn't remember his name at first.  So embarrassing.  But it was the Editor-at-Large at Vogue Andre Leon!  To bad we're not aloud to talk to anyone special that comes in because that would be violating their personal space... I thought it was called networking? GRR.

Oh well.

quick post

So I believe its always good to start a post with a dinner pic... Thanks to Laura I had some delicious pasta and garlic bread!!! YAY!

As for my outfit....
IT RAINED ALL FREAKEN DAY

Marc  by Marc Jacobs shoes <3>
UO light skinny jeans
Limited tank
a scarf my sister bought for me in England
and a belt I picked up at a second hand store.
Not to mention my kick ass UO plaid poncho which I didn't take a picture of... sorry!

Please excuse my messy room :o/.  I haven't unpacked yet. whoops.

See... a complete mess.

Well now its time to go to work... but I get to see my little princess Rachel :oD.

I'm a bad girl.

Well today was a sunny but cold day and work at {insert name here} was good.  Long day but tomorrow my dear friend RACHEL BATTISTA is coming to NYC for a Yankees game ick... but then I will get to see herrrrrr!!!!! God I  miss that girl!!!!
Today's Dinner:  Tuna and saltines... mmmmmm
Today's outfit:  UO dress and gray canvass shoes, gray leggings, and a gray bat-winged shawl.
So I was a bad girl today... I figured why not go visit the Marc by Marc Jacobs store.  When I'm down in the dumps my favorite thing to do is window shop or actually shop. Then to my surprise all shoes were 70% off.  Now a deal like that, how could I possibly refuse.
EEEEEEEEEEEEK
I decided to peruse for a bit and finally bought a cute reflective heart wallet...
... a canvas tote that is really bright and I love it...
(close up... and reflected view)
... and the money makers... my first pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes.
I NEVER LOVED A PAIR OF SHOES MORE THAN THESE and I love shoes.
but these shoes gave me the best shoegasm I've ever had.
I'm definitely going back once I work more and buying another pair (not the same of course).
I basically had to run out of the store so I wouldn't be tempted to buy more.  Oh and I got a key chain but its nothing too special just something small I liked.

On a happier note:  I'm super excited to wear my shoes tomorrow. I keep day dreaming about them.  :oD
I will definitely take pictures of that.

Back to NYC

So this week I went home to visit my Grandmom and it was fun...

I didn't really do much but take pictures of my animals. So this is going to be an animal post!

Exhibit A : Pierre the peacock.
His tail is getting so long, its beautiful.  I wish he would molt in places that it was easy to find his feathers because as of right now I have no idea where to look to collect those.

But anywho, going home really made me homesick.
But now that I'm back in NYC I'm alright.

Here's a cute little picture of my sleepy puppy Patron.  He's so freaken big now I can't get over it.

He's such a baby and loves to snuggle at night. Its really cute.

I got to spend time with my family and find out all about my dad's service dog Lucky.  He's a cute little beagle and is used to detect bed bugs.  Its actually a pretty cool thing to witness this dog work but at the same time I wish he was a family pet so he didn't have to be in his crate the whole time.  Well technically its not the whole time, he's let out for a certain amount of time and then there's play time and going to the bathroom and whatnot but most of the time he's laying in his crate :(.
Oh well, he brings home the bacon for my dad.

And this little girl over here is Tina.
She is the pet of he who can't be named.
Very cute dog but constantly looking for food and
attention.  I don't mind giving her attention though so that doesn't bother me.

Oh and my puppy loves to molest my cat.  And she loves it.  Its really weird.  He'll lick her and sniff her and basically mount her and she'll take it like a whore.  I don't know how I feel about it.

Oh I did get two new additions to my wardrobe... but nothing too spectacular.  My mom wanted to go shopping to pick out a new outfit and I was helping her so as we were walking by the shoe department these Madden Girl sandals caught my eye.  They are a little different then what I currently have in my shoedrobe but I like them.  I really wanted to buy this gorgeous pair of BCBG heals they were $75 and that was their sale price but mother wasn't having it. I do think that I will get them eventually online or something.

Oh and the other addition is a bathing suit Nothing to fancy but I haven't gotten a new suit in like three years so I wore it as much as I could while I was home because I really don't know when I can wear that again this summer.

Well... Sorry about the lack of clothing pictures but I've been slacking and I'll admit to it.

I did however wear a very cute outfit home that I forgot to take a photo of.... oh well.

'Til next time...
