Weekends over :(

Well, this weekend was kinda fun.  I was alone because Laura went home but I made some acquaintances at work, mostly with the employees.  Its a really cool bar to work at, they do a lot of "bar tricks" IE the picture to the left.

Its called a tiki torch shot and they basically light the bar on fire and you roast a marshmallow and take a shot of Bacardi Limon... not a fan of that but it looks cool.

So I definitely made an impression on the owner because she's going to train me as a bartender this thursday.  I've bartended before but not at a theme bar so it should be interesting.  Lots of special drinks but the crowds good and so is the money I hear.

Well I don't have tomorrow off so that sucks a lot

I went to the Verizon Store to complain about my non compatible music phone and the owner was super nice that I didn't even have to complain, he just gave me an adapter for my memory card so I can just use that instead of plugging my phone into my computer.... It works :)

Oh and I stole this lovely photo of Lilo from ONTD.  I'm praying that I run into her when she's in NYC. :) That would just be marvelous.

So I'm really in the mood for making clothes today.  I drafted a jean short pattern and cut it out, so after my delicious dinner I'm cooking right now, I'll probably sew it together.  Or I'll draft a skirt pattern or two and cut those out and possibly sew them.  I'm just so tired of wanting to buy clothes when I don't have money and not using the fabric that I have.  So stupid.

Well time to eat!!!!

Did I just get a yob?

Today's outfit...
black tank under a knit black empire waist shirt with boyfriend fit blue jeans and black flats.
Jewelry = turquoise, tiger eye, and brass beaded necklace from Lia Sophia actually.

Very comfy day today.  Did a lot of sitting and drafting... oh and I think I might have found a job! WHOOT.  The owner said she'll call me this week to confirm but I'm going to be checking IDs with my smiley face at the front door of the Zombie Hut. Who knew?  I just figured it was worth a shot to go in there because the atmospheres great, and bam. I'm excited.  So excited I forgot to ask how much I would get paid an hour...  well its better that my recent salary at a whopping $0.00 and hour.
Well time to relaxxx.

I've been eating a lot of fruit lately.  Random huh?

Anywho, this is what I wore today...

Kind of a close up but I wanted to show the ruffles, Its my favorite part of this shirt.
U.O. top and shoes, grey shrug and my black jeans.  It was kind of really cold and gloomy out today, it sucked.

Didn't have any jewelry on today... weird.  Oh and I had to post a picture of Patron again.  I miss cuddling with him.  He really is the cutest dog I've ever seen... and I miss him a lot.  To be honest I just miss being home.  I haven't lived at home (minus Christmas and Spring break) in two years.  Last summer I was in Caz, and this summer I'm in NYC.  I just miss home.

I don't regret being here at all, its just one of those things.  Laura's sick :(. I hope she gets better soon because she feels like death.  Not good.  Well I have to write in my journal for K. Steen... awesome.  Not really.  And I might sketch, for myself actually. Not to mention, Gossip Girl's season finale was on tonight.  So much to do! :)

Lack of Job = lack of fun.

so apparently everyone and anyone takes resumes in NYC instead of having applications. sweet. so my ink-less printer needed to be filled. Bought the wrong ink. awesome. returned it. cvs didn't have the right kind.  walked through the ghetto with laura to staples and got it. whoot. so now I can officially job hunt. But its a sunday...

Any who enough bitching... I got a new phone yesterday! its the samsung trance.  Its nice, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't record video oh and its a music phone, but not compatible with my mac... so I might return it. I have 30 days, so we'll see. But those two things are vital to me. especially since its a music phone, its supposed to act like an iPod but apparently my mac isn't cool enough because its not a p.c.

Of course thats my love pug on my phone :D

Oh and this Saturday was a stoop sale in the neighborhood. While we were walking down our street to go job hunting, I saw this gem and made a comment out loud.  Well the guy heard me and asked me if I wanted to buy it.  I said no because I am broke-ass and that I'm going to find a job.  When we returned, still jobless, he was still out but this time with his family.  He asked if I got a job, I said no and he told me to just take the hat and get it out of here.  :)  oh alright sweet deal, didn't have to twist my arm.

I think it has a lot of potential, I just have to find the right outfit for it.  There was still a tag on it, it looked like it was from a while ago but it apparently once cost 60 pounds.  Now thats a steal.

Oh and last night we went to the Zombie Hut.  Really great atmosphere, just too bad I could only afford one $2.00 PBR.  Ugh.
Post laterr.

Yesterday.

Outfit for my sister.  (I wore it yesterday)
Alexander McQueen leggings paired with an 80's top that my mom had. Oh and I wore my bootals again.

I'm going out to find a job now, wish me luck!

5.13.2009

Shhh...

So due to a contract I signed, I can't talk about (Insert Name Here) anymore on my blog.  So I guess you'll just have to hear about my wardrobe some more and my interesting life.  I so need a job. I also need to explore this city.  I hate that I haven't had the time to.  There's so much I need to do here!!!

But anyways I decided to pull out the skort today. Love it.

Paired it with my cut leggings I made, black flats and a deep v-neck from U.O.
Not to mention my favorite (and only) cross necklace. I love that thing.

well off to bed.

Lazy day at Zac, but not really

These 12 hour days are going to kill me... I can already feel it. Thank god I'm doing pattern work and not the design because they stay around much later plus I don't know if I would enjoy running errands and doing sew tests.  Plus I just love doing math and starring at lines for hours on end, it really makes my eyes feel wonderful. :) But in all seriousness, I like it.

So I decided to dress more for comfort today and I enjoyed it. Still was a little fashionable with my U.O. top, homemade chain necklace, my favorite black skinny jeans, and another favorite item my Nine West snake skin flats.

Like my Hello Kitty lunchbag? (its right on the tip of my bed)  Thanks Laura!

I talked to Lucinda about being part time today, and she wants me to wait until after the show on the 1st, which is fine by me but I still need to work weekends, that is only if U.O. hires me.  PLEASE.  I need money.  Speaking of money, Mr. Posen is having a sample sale tomorrow :D. If only I wasn't unemployed for so damn long... oh well.
Post Later! xo <3

Day 1 of Mr. Posen

Today was super interesting. It started off really slow and then after our lunch break I did a lot of pattern work.  I also went on an errand with one of the designers Matthew to take Zac and his draped forms to a lady in the garment district.  Fun.
I think I might have bonded with him because first it was small talk and then we started talking about SNL and Natalie Portman's rap and oh the "Dick in a Box" skit.

So here's what I decided to wear today, which turned out to be too dressy... but I enjoyed looking better than the other interns.

Oh and Zac LOVED my stockings.  :)

5.10.2009

oh my boots!!!

Man do I suck at updating!!! I FORGOT TO POST MY NEW BOOTS I MADE!!!
Here they are! (These pictures are from two weeks ago... oops.)

Roaming NYC's.... subway?

So Laura and I roamed around today, first to get jobs then to go to the Met...
Well we did a lot of roaming, and let me tell you... all I needed was a big sign that said tourist on my face and I would be set.  For some unknown reason, my intuition/built in GPS was on the fritz and Laura and I were roaming around like lost puppies in the subway system... oh and also when we were trying to find the Met. BUT we fo
und it, eventually.  I wasn't able to take any pictures of the "Models as the Muse" so I took pictures in the other exhibits.

Laura got a new face.

 I got some egyptian hair.

Trying to blend in...

...with the art work.

Oh and here's some pictures of our new apartment in Carroll Gardens!
and by apartment I really mean us photoboothing in my room....
but heres our front door!!!!!!!

p.s.  I start my internship at Zac tomorrow... I'm so nervoussssss.

Fashion Show

So, I got behind in my blogging, really behind.
Update on the fashion show:  went so smoothly, looked absolutely magnificent!  All the segments were on time, the Sen
iors looked great, and the models didn't even look like students.  The only thing that was relatively bad was the heat.  It was so hot... oh well!

here are some of my designs this year:

Ned Breznai in men's Casual.

Made everything minus shoes, sunglasses, and underwear haha.

Katie Barons in a "One Piece of Attitude"
The coat is made out of an one-piece pattern
the leggings are my creation as well

The next one is Angela Vernich wearing my wearable art.
Its made out of tin foil, brown paper bags, yellow tissue paper and has a zip-lock closure.

Paula Jacobson in a knit outfit.
Pink v-neck with lace bottom and a deep chocolate brown skirt.
Chain necklace made by me as well.

Next two outfits are worn by the lovely Jessica Hurley, one of my favorite models we have.

First outfit is a grey dress made out of jersey knit, with a lace and lime green middle.  Her headpiece which you can't really see, is made out of feathers, netting and a peacock feather, but from the wing not from the tail.

The next is a burgandy knit dress that is hand sewn and completely drapped.  I actually made this dress to wear to my sister's graduation/engagement party.  I love it.

The next three outfits are from my "Greed Line".  I can't remember their full names but the models are
Lilly, Shibon, and Elizabeth.  Sorry if I spelled it wrong!!!

The gold material is a silk dupioni, the black is a silk herringbone, the grey is a heavy jersey knit, and the lace top (hand sewn) is nylon... haha

Lilly is wearing on of my hats, red feathers, black and red tulle, and it has red beading on it as well as some black curled feathers.

so, this post took way too long... i'm going to blog later about NYC!!!
off to find a job and to go to the MET for the "Model as the Muse"!!!!
