Fridays are not supposed to be rainy.

Today I had a meeting about all the new company benefits and information from LF USA.  I'm pretty happy about everything too.  Its going to save me a lot of money.

I was supposed to meet up with my friend Xander today for an early dinner but its been rainy all day... so he wanted a raincheck... which is fine by me.  But I'm not going to let rain ruin my night :)

Outfit today:
My peacock blue button-up I designed for my senior collection, w/ a Jessica Simpson belt from work, guess jean shorts, braided sandals, and my owl necklace.  Very comfortable outfit.

Time for the weekend.

"You look like Ariel... you know... The Little Mermaid"

What I wore...
Zac Posen pleated skirt w/ a ruffle blouse and Report gladiator sandals.
(the photos are dark... why? i have no idea... but you get to see a little bit of my room)

So today at work my one boss said to me "You know who you look like? You look like Ariel... you know... The Little Mermaid"...

So for the rest of the day, I was called Ariel... Not necessary. Plus you can't look like a cartoon... Thats just ridiculous. Oh well, what can you do?

I can't believe I've been at my new job for three weeks already. Time is really flying. Everyone there is so nice and they all get along so well that its a comfortable work enviroment. But i have a feeling these next two weeks are going to be crazy because markets coming up. (for resort 2011).

I have a meeting tomorrow... from 10-12 ish and then I'm done because of summer hours!!!!

Can't wait for the weekend!!!!!

Yesterday and???? so

I don't know when I wore this... but I know it was last week... maybe thursday???

Well, black skinny jeans, sequins tuxedo top... from miley cyrus max azria... i know don't judge it was only $3... seriously though... a black UO knit vest, a great snake skin belt, and a pair of bootie heels.

Wore this last outfit yesterday... It was too hot for pants... or clothes for that fact. Recently in the mornings I've been taking so long to get dressed only because I don't want to sweat in my clothes... its horrible in the subway. & its only going to get worse!!!!

Anyways... UO dress paired w/ braided sandals and braided vintage belt.

I wore a cute outfit on friday home... but didn't take pictures... cute outfit today but didn't take pictures again. I need to remember these things.

Found a Zara blazer for cheap at good will down the street.  That place has a lot of good names... like givenchy, LV, and other shoes but of course they are a size 6. my feet are way to big for those.... humpf.

well i think thats all for now... other than i'm starting to have meetings everyday for market which i find exciting :)

uhmph

Today was the first day to drag on for me... mainly because I couldn't do anything because I was waiting on other people to give me information... which I never received even when I contacted them a couple times.  Plus it rained on and off all day so that made me incredibly tired.

So what i wore on this horribly slow rainy day:  UO grey tank blouse with my Abercrombie blue skinny jeans, silver dollar necklace, 9 West grey snake flats, and a black leather skinny belt.

I know... boring. But I really don't feel like being cute when its windy, humid, and rainy.

Thats all?

40 blocks to go...

so today i thought to myself (after work) why take the metro all the way home... why not walk.  so when I got off the subway (sorry i tend to refer to it as the metro because you buy a "metrocard") I didn't really think it through.... 40 blocks later I was home... it took me an hour only because I went grocery shopping and for some reason that too way too long, for basically 5 things.

Well, today was interesting/annoying.  Annoying because my computer at work was being very very strange and kept freezing and not printing correctly.  So I had to keep force quitting and reopening adobe illustrator and microsoft excel.  The interesting part was going to the CK meeting at their design studio.  I met one of the designers/creative director and his right hand woman who is also a creative director/designer... I'm not going to say their names because honestly I would butcher the spelling.  Watching them look at the belts, talk about the belts, try them on, and of course make changes or suggest changes was very different than RTW.  Of course, right? But until I experienced both a fitting and a product meeting I didn't really know how different the language of that particular market was.  Learned a lot, took a lot of notes, and I definitely enjoyed it.

So no photos of my outfit today just because I was a little frazzled from my 40 block walk. :/ sorry.

But here's something my dad sent me...

He recently bought me a head, creepy kinda but not really, for my millinery so-called-business.  Very thoughtful, but the thing creeps me out.. haha oh and the toll house cookies... they are my favorite snack to eat, raw... I know very unhealthy, blah blah blah blah.  I love them.

Home in three days!

first day of work - now?

so this is what i decided to wear for my first day at max leather.

very casual and nothing fancy. i did however wear my bootals. i ♥ them very much.  and my silver dollar necklace.
i'm glad i didn't get super dressed up because honestly no one does.
if someone has a meeting with a client they will obviously look nice but sometimes they will wear jeans to meetings.
which is fine by me because i like not having to wear black pants and button-ups.
oh but that doesn't mean i wont be wearing blazers, cause i love them.  its just too stinking hot.

i haven't been able to take photos of my outfits everyday cause usually i'm running down five stories so i can get to work on time. and i literally mean running because you can't really walk slow down 5 flights and be on time.
i'm still getting use to the area around here... found out some good restaurants, good bars, and the best thing ever a grocery store that will deliver my groceries so i don't have to carry them up 5 flights.  AWESOME.
so i found this gem at charlotte russe the other day and decided that i really needed it. kinda like a "way to have a job" present. you know? but honestly i shouldn't be spending any money... but its so hard when you live in NYC.

but anyways my first week went well. very overwhelming but got a lot done. soon i'll be getting my first samples for CK ladies :) so so so so so excited.  so on friday i went to a bbq with co-workers and got pretty drunk then kept drinking and met up with some friends in good ol' carroll gardens :) went to my last summer watering hole (the zombie hut) and camp to make some smores.  then last night it was pretty low key, just drinking some wine with my roommate until i got a phone call to come out at like midnight.  so hopped in and out of the shower and headed down to dorrian's and had a blast

i do miss home though, my little pumkin' my family, and my friends.  but there's so many distractions here that it makes it easier to adapt to my new life.  weird how things change so quickly.

thats all for now. sorry i'm boring. i need to start bringing my camera places.

So I guess I'll fill you in.

So... I just got a job at Max Leather Group/Cipriani Accessories INC working for a designer who strictly deals with CK and Vince Camuto. I'll be working on small leather goods, like belts, bags, accessories, weather goods, etc.
I literally started today. It was so overwhelming but thats how the first day is supposed to go/the whole first week. :)

But anyways I moved to the UES (91st and 2nd) on July 3rd and spent the holiday celebrating with a couple friends on the LWS. It was amazing to see a ton of fireworks everywhere and of course all the lights of the city.

So here's a couple work pictures. :) nothing special but stuff that made me smile.  An email from Pam (the designer I'm working with).  My undecorated and somewhat awesome desk that sits in front of the owner's office.  A screen shot of one of the belts I worked on today... and then a picture of some SOME of the bins we have around the studio.  There are belts and bags everywhere from every designer label its awesome because it smells like leather. :)

Well thats it for now :)
