A birthday, a dance, and a little bit of pain?

So let's start this out on Friday... After work I went up to the Feather Place on 38th between 5th and 6th and picked up some peacock feathers for my cousin's bridal hair pieces.  She wants me to do something she found off Etsy but I'm definitely going to put my own spin on it because I can't just replicate someone else's work.  So when I got home I looked through all of my lace and pearls and found what I needed. So now its time to work on that project :)

Later that night, My friend Laura and I grabbed some sushi at a place around the corner, and then we walked down 3rd Ave in Bay Ridge for the new event called the Summer Stroll.  It was ok... mostly just businesses out on the street trying to boost business. Two dance studios were performing on the street and as much as I wanted to stay and watch more, it was too hot to stay.  We ended up getting a free book, The Ghosts of Belfast, which is actually pretty good so far.

I didn't take any photos of my outfit from Friday but I was wearing the below necklace that Mal got me from Italy.  I love it.

Onto Saturday.... day started off early. Went and did laundry for a few hours, did some grocery shopping (actually a lot and it hurt carrying it home), and then got ready for some dance.

Since I got the free book I have to start wearing my reading glasses again or else my eyes start hurting really badly.

After dance, Missy and Laura came over to drink some beers and celebrate Laura's bday! It was like a 5th grade sleep-over but with beer... The electric went out mostly because my building has extremely old wiring... had to call the super and it was fixed.  Braided Missy's hair because all she wanted was a "fish-tail" braid.

She ended up doing her nails and we made the Olympics into a drinking game. I can't really explain how, but it was basically whenever someone yelled "Drink!" we drank.
Oh, and I made Laura cupcakes and a cake, funfetti of course!

Laura ended up staying the night and we went out for bfast the next day to a cute place on 3rd called Bagel Smagel. Delicious bagels, home-made cream cheese, and the iced coffee wasn't too bad either :)

Unfortunately when I woke up on Sunday morning, my back was not up to par.... I have two knots in my back that luckily are working their way out but it was so painful yesterday all I did was lay on my hardwood floor and read/watch TV... oh wait I lied... I did that after I cleaned the apartment and hurt it more. HAH! Oh well, it's feeling better now after a day full of stiffness at work. Finally, I can move almost like normal.

Here's my only outfit photos of today.
H&M black jeans, Vince Camuto belt, Forever 21 cross necklace, some boots, and a navy/neon tank I got in Canada :)

I really need to decorate that wall...

Neon

SYTYCD was absolutely amazing tonight. So many good routines, I even cried. I really really miss dance. I'm so happy I'm getting back into it. Really hoping that this company hires me as an instructor. Fingers crossed!

OTD...
Target neon green tank with my Levi's blue jeans, Calvin Klein Jeans belt (that I designed), Aldo/Forever 21 bracelets, my favorite cross (Forever 21), matching neon shoes :), and some awesome feather earrings. Oh and a couple rings from various places.

The giraffe bracelet is from Forever 21, and its awesome.

Now its time to talk to my love before bed <3
I can't wait until he's back :)

Today, was a fun one... but I'm just going to say, it could have been a lot worse.

In other news... OTD:

This is definitely one of my favorite dresses I have made so far.  I've gotten a lot of compliments on it along with quite a few requests. :) maybe one day... I'll keep dreaming.

friday to monday

So this weekend was great.  My lovely and oh-so-handsome boyfriend came to visit and we had a great time. Andrew got in on Friday and we ended up hanging out at home for a bit mostly because he just got done a night shift and didn't have the chance to sleep.  We ordered some delicious Mexican food from Mezcals. Its by far my favorite restaurant in Bay Ridge. After we stuffed our stomachs full of burritos and rice we decided to go see a movie, The Dark Night Rises. It was a great movie.  I only wish that the experience wasn't tainted by the horrible event that happened opening night, but having police everywhere in the theater definitely made me comfortable.

Saturday, Andrew and I went to my friend Jaye's baby shower. She was glowing and the decorations were adorable.  I wish I took photos but I only have this great photo that Jaye gave me of the two of us and Pam. :)  Not sure where Pam got her gorgeous lilac dress but Jaye's tunic is a DVF and I was in love with it.

After the shower we decided to drink at home and watch the last few episodes of the Walking Dead season 2... this show really freaks me out.  I can't even explain how scared I am of zombies. I know I'm a ridiculous person.
Sunday... we decided to go to Outback Steakhouse and have a nice big dinner for basically no money at all. :) Love that place actually.  Its so funny to me that for the crazy amount of amazing restaurants in NYC... I haven't found a place that has the amount of food for $10.00 yes $10.00 including a 6oz piece of steak that makes my mouth water, and no the food does not make you sick as some restaurants may do in NYC. After that we went shopping for outfits for my cousin's wedding. Ended up buying a BCBG coral pink dress and we found him a matching tie.

So all-in-all a good weekend with my love :)

Today... was just another Monday... with wings! Missy and I love going to Buffalo Wild Wings which just so happens to have become a ritual.  So far we have tried 6 of the sauces, but have not yet dared to try one of the hot ones :| Today was Caribbean Jerk & Sweet BBQ.

OTD: H&M maxi with a Vince Camuto leather belt, turq/gold/orange jewelry, and some brown braided sandals (not pictured)

Thats all for now.

NYC is a stinky sauna

When nyc gets hot, the stench becomes unbearable. Not just the smell of pee and trash but the people of nyc add to the aroma... and let me tell you, its not pleasant.

OTD:
Urban Outfitters shirt, grey H&M jeans, JS wedges, Forever 21 cross necklace, my guilty pleasure bangles (Hot Topic), and a few rings.

Love these shoes... they are by far my favorite pair, next to my MbMJ of course ;)

sparkles

This weekend was very exhausting but relaxing at the same time...
Went to the Bronx Friday and hung out with my old roommate and got a little tipsy :)
Taught Ballet again Saturday and of course that took everything out of me because of Friday night so I just watched The Walking Dead and scared the life out of me.
Sunday I ended up cleaning up/going through a ton of stuff that I've been meaning to do ever since I moved to the city...

I need new clothes and I've been waiting patiently for a sewing machine part that should hopefully come any day now... but in the mean time I've been finishing up my boyfriends blazer, along with a couple of projects I never finished.

Anywho... outfit of the day:
7 jeans, Vince Camuto boots, sparkle tank, and some jewelry.

oh and Secret Life of the American Teenager is a HORRIBLE show but I cant seam to stop watching it.... Someone help.

2.5

So, it's been roughly 2 and 1/2 years since I blogged.  I switched to Tumblr... and it kinda died out for me because its basically the same stuff re-blogged over and over again and its full of snarky comments and people who want all the credit for GIF files... Now don't get me wrong there are plenty of images/gifs/whatever on Tumblr that I love but I just got bored with it.

With that being said, I am going back to my original form and trying it all over again... with maybe a few changes. Not that I have a following on here but hey if you missed me, I'm back!

I have been randomly taking photos of my outfit-of-the-day for the past month or so (there's not that many because my life is being taken over by belts and leather)... but I decided to just post the outfit I wore today.

My Ramones tee that I had since 7th grade.. its gone through hell and back. I cut the sleeves/neckline and fringed the bottom.  Worn with a vintage button up skirt (from my mothers closet), a WCM belt, black sandals (not pictured), with hints of jewelry :)

In case your wondering... my bracelets (except the solid black bangle) are from Hot Topic ::shameful face:: but you know what? I'm in love with them... even though I stab myself with them :)
